The importance of faith and trusting His guidance in the war within

If there's anything you have to learn about Krishna from Mahabharata, it's that Krishna is a charioteer, not a warrior. We know that Krishna could possibly have ended the war within seconds if he had taken up his chakra, but he didn't. We also know that Arjuna would have lost the battle and probably died within the first five seconds without Krishna, even if Krishna did not pick up a single weapon or fight a single battle throughout the course of the war. Krishna needs us to fight our own battles, but he knows that we need him to guide our chariot because nobody can guide a chariot better than him. The rest is up to us.

Keep in mind that while Krishna is primarily a charioteer, he can also be a warrior. He is always ready to become the warrior in your direst moments. In the beginning of the Mahabharata, when Arjuna saw his relatives, friends, teachers and all the people he grew up with amongst his adversaries and he was ready to give up, Krishna recited the Bhagavad Gita. After this, he told Arjuna that if it was still that bad, he was ready to break his oath and take up his chakra. He said this on multiple occasions. Oaths held so much value in those days, and there were always terrible consequences for breaking one- yet Krishna was willing to break an oath for his devotee, Partha. He was never going to let the Pandavas loose because that would break his heart as much as it would break Arjuna. Arjuna told him every one of those times that it was not yet that dire and he was still capable of fighting because he’d be damned if he let Krishna break an oath for him. In conclusion, Krishna may let you lose a few battles; but once you accept him as your charioteer, he’s not going to let you lose the war. Your situation is not yet dire enough for him to become the warrior, you are still capable of fighting your own battles with him guiding your chariot- as long as you trust his guidance throughout the process. But keep in mind that if it comes to that, he will be ready to take up his chakra for you and all of his sincere devotees as he was ready to do for Partha. Have faith!

Hey.,

I personally love the Mahabharata and the amount of symbolism in each part of the epic. I also love the fact that before the battle, Krishna took the time to actually give a discourse. Ultimately saying that, Understand the situation, understand yourself, understand your motivation and your objectives. Actually fighting this war can wait, it is not the most important thing in the world. What is important is understanding why you are fighting. And actually finding out why we are here in the first place!
